[English]

Hormoz Island is located in the south of Iran and at the entrance of the Persian Gulf, with an area of about forty-one square kilometers, eighteen kilometers from Bandar Abbas. Okhra soil mine of Hormoz island is located about 9 km far from the residential area of Hormoz on Karane road. Due to the lack of studies related to the magnetic properties of the ocher soil of Hormoz Island, in this article, a few grams of this soil was collected as a sample and analyzied in order to identify the materials present in the ocher soil of Hormoz Island and the magnetic properties were determined, which is of great importance. Data obtained from X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) have been investigated. X-ray diffraction study of the ocher soil sample of Hormoz Island showed different oxides such as hematite, magnetite and quartz as the dominant oxides in the sample. According to the pulverization of the sample, the atomic force microscope images showed that the particle size is below 15.8 nm, which is in good agreement with the field emission scanning electron microscope images with the given scale. Magnetic characterization of the sample using the hysteresis loop, coercivity 1458.0 Oe, saturation magnetization 0.26948 emu/g and residual magnetization 90.360×10-3 emu/g were obtained. According to the data obtained from the hysteresis loop of the sample, the investigated item shows a ferromagnetic material from the magnetic point of view.
