The Copper mineralization in Derakht-e Senjed area is mainly observable in oxide phase and in some parts in sulfide phase. The host rock of the mineralization is volcanic, especially andesite porphyry unit and the main alterations of the area include carbonatic from weak to strong degrees, propylitic and silicified. The copper mineralization in this area is mainly seen in the forms of malachite, azurite, chalcopyrite, bornite, digenite, chalcocite, covellite and atacamite. The main structures and textures in the ore-bearing units are vein-veinlet, space-filling, and scattered texture. The performed sulfur isotopic studies on chalcocite samples in this area show values from -7 to -9.1 ‰. The mineralization in the Derakht-e Senjed area is mostly similar to Chilean Manto type deposits, however, based on the epigenetic evidences, the presence of main sulfide minerals such as chalcocite as well as the lack of pyrite and iron-containing minerals, the presence of carbonatic alteration and the evidences of the formation at shallow depths, this mineralization can be considered to forms as a low-sulfidation and low-iron hydrothermal deposit.
