The Zandi copper (Kerman Province) is located about 70 Km of Rayan city and adjacent of Gavar village. Based on geological classification of Iran, this region belongs to Iranian Central Zone (Urmia- Dokhtar) and Dehaj-Sardoiyeh magmatic belt. In this area, there are a lot of acidic to intermediate lava flows with andesite, trachy andesite, dacite, rhyolite, and pyroclastic rocks and low basaltic and basaltic andesite in composition. These rocks have usually porphyric textures. Acidic to intermediate lavas are composed of plagioclase, hornblende, biotite and quartz minerals and basaltic rocks have plagioclase with pyroxene. In the spider diagrams, accessory and rare earth elements patterns of normalized to Chondrite and primary mantle; show light rare earth elements (LREE) are lower enriching than heavy rare earth elements (HREE). Most of elements in different geochemical diagrams show a relatively similar pattern to the rocks belonging to the active continental margin regions. Rb, Th and Ba elements have positive anomalies while Ti and P elements have negative anomalies. The petrogenetic and tectonomagmatic diagrams with nearly negative anomaly in the Eu element in these lavas indicate their dependence on magmatic subduction zone. It seems that these lavas are formed similar to many rocks in volcano-plutonic Urmia-Dokhtar Zone, which resulted magmas from subduction of the Arabian plate under the Iranian plate.
