Khankshi copper deposit is located in Central Province about 80 km southwest of Tehran Province. This deposit is formed by sequence of volcanic and pyroclastic rocks that are mostly entailed of trachyandesite and andesite rocks with Eocene age. The substitution of framboidal pyrite by chalcopyrite and bornite in the form of micro spherical crystals in initial micrite alongside with pyroclastics and dependent tuff-breccia are representative of volcanic cycle in which copper mineralization in the form of strata bound occurred. According to the availability of similar minerals, propylitic alteration besides other alterations are regular alterations in the Khankshi that its intensity in host rock mineralization is higher. Due to XRD studies, albite, calcite, quartz and kaolinite minerals are present in the main phase that indicates more presence of propylitic alteration in comparison to argillic alteration and iron oxidation in this phase. Geochemical analysis indicates the occurrence of volcanism so that rocks in this area are volcanic and from magmatic series point of view, these rocks have high alkaline potassium nature and in terms of tectonic perspective because of tensile process these rocks are located at the edge of arcuate basin. Fluid inclusion analysis shows homogenization’s temperature between 129.4to227.1 and range of salinity is varied between 1.9 to 13.4 of salt (NaCl) weight percent. The depth of fluid trapping in this deposit is less than 200 meter and pressure is less than 74 bar. This deposit according to geological properties, mineralogy, fabric and structure, geochemical and fluid inculsion data is comparable with Manto copper deposit.
