The Esfajerd pluton crops out within garnet–staurolite (±kyanite) micaschists in the central Sanandaj–Sirjan Zone, adjacent to the Urumieh–Dokhtar magmatic arc. This study investigates the magma source, emplacement conditions, and deformation history of the pluton. The Esfajerd leucogranites comprise tourmaline-bearing and two-mica varieties and are high-K calc-alkaline and peraluminous, showing mineralogical and geochemical affinities with S-type granitoids. SiO₂ contents range from 68.10 to 76.44 wt.%, A/CNK from 1.01 to 1.31, and Mg# from 16.69 to 30.42, whereas Fe# exceeds 0.78 in all samples. Mineralogical and geochemical evidence suggests partial melting of a heterogeneous metasedimentary source involving pelitic and psammitic components. LILE enrichment and Nb–Ta–Ti depletion, together with an active continental-margin setting, are consistent with Neo-Tethyan subduction-related magmatism. Petrofabric and microstructural evidence indicates that mylonitization was mainly restricted to the pluton margins, whereas significant deformation fabrics developed after emplacement and crystallization.
