Research on dolomite has long been of great importance in the earth sciences. This study focuses on the dolomites of the Asmari Formation and investigates their dolomitization processes. In this regard, a stratigraphic section with a thickness of 87 meters was selected on the northern flank of the Khorramabad anticline and sampled. Major and trace elements, as well as rare earth elements (REEs), were analyzed using EDX and XRF methods. Crystal texture parameters and elemental composition were also examined at finer scales. The CaO content at the edges of dolomite crystals is more heterogeneous compared to the crystal centers, whereas the CaO content in the crystal centers is relatively more homogeneous. The difference in MgO content between the edges and centers of dolomite crystals is relatively small. A negative correlation between MgO and CaO is more pronounced at the crystal edges than at the centers.
