The Tarom-Olya intrusive body is a part of the Tertiary plutonism of the Alborz-Azerbaijan zone, located within the Tarom subzone, and outcrops with a general NW-SE trend in the Tarom-Olya heights. Based on petrographic studies, this body consists of four rock units: quartz monzonite, monzonite, monzogranite, and monzodiorite. These rocks are mainly composed of plagioclase, K-feldspar, quartz, biotite, and clinopyroxene. According to mineral chemistry studies, the compositional range of plagioclase is andesine to oligoclase. The chemical composition of pyroxenes in the studied samples, based on the pyroxene classification diagram, falls within the calcic (Ca-Mg-Fe) field and in the domain of augite to diopside. Furthermore, based on the investigations carried out on the chemistry of this mineral, their formation temperature is about 1150 to 1200°C and the pressure during their crystallization is less than 2 to about 3 kbar, equivalent to approximately 6 to 10 km.
