The Cheshmeh Piroozi mining district is located in the northeast of Bafq, in the Central Iran structural zone. In this area, the Late Neoproterozoic metamorphic rock units of Central Iran block are not observed and the oldest rock units comprise of the Early Cambrian unmetamorphosed Rizu and Dezu Formations. Gabbro-diorite to granodiorite intrusions have intruded into these rock units and are associated with iron skarn mineralization. Gradual and continuous changes in the color and mineralogical composition of the igneous intrusions in the field indicate a differentiation trend from gabbro-diorite towards diorite, quartz diorite-monzonite, and granodiorite. These magmatic rocks exhibit granular, ophitic, sub-ophitic, intergranular, and poikilitic textures composed of clinopyroxene, hornblende, plagioclase, alkali feldspar, biotite, and quartz
