By Using the reaction of cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate and 4-amino-3,5-bis(3-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole (L) ligand in methanol/acetonitrile solvent system and solvent slow evaporation method result in, purple-colored cubic-shaped crystals of compound [CoL2Cl2]n (1). The investigation of crystal structure of this compound indicates it was crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system and P21/c space group. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and Hirshfeld surface analysis have been used for identification of the compound and its crystal structure determination. According to the our structural information obtained from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, this compound has a rhombic-shaped two-dimensional structural motif.
